The Berlin Years 1926 – 1933

The Hans Robertson exhibition reveals once again that the Berlinische Galerie is the museum to rediscover one of the most important Berlin Photographers of the Weimar Republic period.

Hans Robertson, born 1883 in the city of Hamburg, died 1950 in exile in Denmark, advanced from 1927 on to one of the most important portait photographers of the city. His dance pictures caused a stir at that time.

The exhibition presents the most impressive pictures of the last years of Weimar Republic from the estate of the Royal Library in Copenhagen.
