In order to make it easier for visitors with disabilities to get to the Berlinische Galerie, we recommend the free VBB bus & train escort service of Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg. Booking and further information can be found here.
From the bus stops Waldeckpark (line M29) and Jüdisches Museum (line 248) it is about 400 m to the museum.
The nearest barrier-free underground stations are Hallesches Tor (U1/U6, approx. 1.2 km away) and Kochstraße/Checkpoint Charlie (U6, approx. 1 km away).
Parking spaces are reserved in the visitor car park behind the museum for visitors with disabilities.
According to the collections of the museum the library preserves literature on Modern Art, Photography, and Architekture, mainly of the 20th century. The stock (at the moment 70.000 volumes) expands countinously by means of donations and estates (for example the library of Eberhard Roters, the founder of the museum).
It annually increases by about 2000 units, mainly by means of the publication exchange program with about 170 institutions at home and abroad.
Monday, Wednesday – Friday 10 am – 4 pm
The library will also be open regularly during the renovation from 7.2. - 25.5.23.
The reference library at the Berlinische Galerie is open for use subject to previous arrangement. Please email your request to bibliothek@berlinischegalerie.de. We look forward to your visit.
Wearing a medical mask covering mouth and nose is recommended in the reading room, as in the entire building. We recommend observing a distance of at least 1.5 metres to other people.
Every Saturday at 4.15 pm and every first Monday of the month at 3 pm public guided tours in English are given by experienced museum’s guides.
In our museum shop you can purchase the catalogues and publications of the Berlinische Galerie. You will also find a wide range of literature on art topics as well as postcards and posters.

The museum café offers fresh food prepared, coffee and cakes.
The interior for the café has been designed in 2021 by the architectural studio Kinzo and fitted out by the Berlin furniture brand Objekte Unserer Tage (OUT). The open structure of the 150m² space has been highlighted, revealing an unexpected airiness, flexibility and elegance.
If you need a venue to host a party or event for up to 80 people, our café will gladly cater for you. Our sun terrace seats up to 48 guests.
